ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement for travelers
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2, with 90% of shifts at a 1:2 ratio
• Unit is a 30-bed ICU/Trauma ICU
• Must be prepared to be the first to float to PCU, CICU, telemetry, or med-surgical units as needed
• Must titrate drips including vasopressors and sedation
• Must interpret telemetry strips independently; unit secretary will run strips
• Must have experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies, or experience with post-TPA patients
• Common diagnoses include trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, and ventriculostomies
• Must have 2-3 years of ICU specialty experience; previous travel experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and willing to ask for help when needed
• Must be able to work collaboratively with the team
• Will complete a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site on day one - Pass/Fail
• Orientation consists of 1 day on the unit with additional time provided if needed
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Navy
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• PALS preferred; required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
• BSN not required
• Valid California RN license required
