Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with both night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) and day (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) shift options available
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirement applies
• Up to 3 call/standby shifts possible per 13-week contract
• First to float, with floating to ICU desirable but not required
• State patient ratios apply with no more than 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage 20-40 patients per day across all ages with widely varied diagnoses
• Work in an 11-bed/trauma bay emergency department with 1 triage room
• Perform triage duties as expected
• Manage own ER holds as no separate holding area exists
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently as no monitor techs are on unit
• Draw blood when starting IVs; phlebotomy available for standard draws
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, High-Flow NC, and Airvo
• Utilize Cerner EMR for all charting
• CT and X-ray are immediately adjacent with no transport team required
• 1 MD on at all times with 1 House Supervisor always present
• Unit techs available 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM when available
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience within the last 3 years required
• Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS
• Navy blue scrubs required
• BSN not required
• Orientation held every Monday
