Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with weekend coverage required as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
• Float required to 3rd or 4th floor Med/Surg Tele units
• One of the following is required: 2 on-call shifts per 6 weeks OR 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks
• Guaranteed hours based on signed contract hours
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred; will consider 1 year of experience on a case-by-case basis
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS
• Must be able to pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and Medication Test on the first day of orientation - one attempt allowed
• Shaving may be required to pass an on-site fit test
• Care for adult and geriatric patients (18 years or older) with a variety of medical and surgical related illnesses requiring acute care treatment
• Monitor patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and/or oxygen saturation via remote telemetry
• Manage patients requiring peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis
• Skills include: blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, PCA, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry monitoring, wound care and wound vac, and use of rapid response and code teams
• Cardiac monitoring performed using Mindray system
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Attendance policy in effect: missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract cancellation
• All requested time off must be included on the initial submission and will not be considered after the fact
• Block scheduling is not available
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
