RN - ED

Job Details:

• Implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person with a focus on healing and wellness
• Apply evidence-based nursing practices in accordance with hospital and department policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
• Utilize all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity in clinical decision-making
• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments within RN scope of practice
• Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when designing care actions and interventions
• Identify patient risk factors, presenting complaints, and obtain health information from family or others as necessary
• Collect objective and subjective data and verify initial admission assessments as needed
• Develop and prioritize patient problem lists in coordination with the inter-professional team
• Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with the medical plan of care
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and family members
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the performance of patient care activities
• Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by other team members
• Identify and address educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems
• Facilitate patient discharge process by executing discharge orders in a timely manner and coordinating with Case Management
• Provide input into patient and nurse assignments based on available staffing, unit activity, and patient acuity
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through collaborative nursing practice
