PCU RN Job in Morgantown, WV

Join WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You'll work three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend or 2 weekends per 4-week schedule required. This 91-week assignment starts October 29, 2026, and offers $2,514.24 weekly pay.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a 1:6 ratio on the floor (med-surg patients) and 1:3 ratio for stepdown patients
• Manage complex patient populations including multi-trauma, traumatic brain injury, fractures, general surgery, and bariatric surgery cases
• Perform complex wound care, manage drains and devices, handle chest tubes, and support patients with respiratory needs and spinal cord injuries
• Administer and manage medication drips including Heparin and PCAs on the floor, and Insulin, Cardizem, and other non-pressors on stepdown
• Read and validate telemetry strips with monitor technicians available for support
• Float to like units (floor and stepdown) as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• Level 1 Trauma experience
• Demonstrated experience with 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Experience with complex wound care, drains, chest tubes, and spinal cord injuries
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN not required

• Free charge nurse and house supervisor available 24/7
• Clinical Associates (nursing aides) available, up to 4 when fully staffed
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
