PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule required
• Holiday rotation participation expected
• Possible floating to units 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10W
• 2-shift unit orientation provided
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:5-6 for EMU floor
• Care for higher acuity Neuroscience patients including strokes, seizures, craniotomies, and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) patients
• Strong Neuro experience required including history of caring for stroke patients and implementing NIH stroke scale
• NIHSS certification must be in hand at time of submission
• Experience with EVDs preferred
• Telemetry present on unit; RNs are not required to read strips
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for floor vents; RNs not required to have vent experience
• Charge nurse available 24/7 and nurse aides present with a ratio of 1:8-9
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS preferred
• BSN not required
• Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
