PCU RN Job in Parkersburg, WV

WVU Camden Clark Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Parkersburg, WV. This is a travel assignment with a 91-day duration, beginning November 2, 2026.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (days 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or nights 7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• Weekly guarantee: 48 hours
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage required; no on-call, possible standby if census is low
• Weekly pay: $2,493

Role & Responsibilities

You will work as a float pool RN covering multiple inpatient units based on competency, including ICU, Step-down, and Medical/Surgical. Patient ratios vary: Med/Surg 1:6, Step-down 1:4–1:5, ICU 1:2–1:3. Common diagnoses include cardiac, orthopedic, neurological, surgical, and general medical cases.

In step-down areas, you will titrate drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Dobutamine. Telemetry monitoring is available with monitor techs; the CVU reads its own strips. All units have CPAP and BiPap; vents are in ICU; chronic tracheostomy vents may be placed in step-down.

Daily assignments are obtained by calling the staffing office. Charge nurse coverage is available on day shift Monday through Friday, and a house supervisor is on-site 24/7. Nurse aides are available on your unit.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Med/Surg background required; Step-down experience preferred
• ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Valid driver's license with current permanent address

Facility Information

You will receive 3 to 4 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation. Royal Blue scrubs are required. Charting is done in EPIC.
