PCU Registered Nurse Job in Morgantown, WV

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital, a 34-bed medical-surgical stepdown and floor unit. This role offers you the opportunity to deliver acute care nursing in a structured environment with clear support systems.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (day or night rotation)
• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled
• Weekly pay: $2,479
• Contract duration: 91 days
• Start date: October 20, 2026

Your Responsibilities

• Manage stepdown patients at 1:3 ratio and floor patients at 1:5–6 ratio
• Titrate intravenous drips
• Read and interpret telemetry strips (telemetry technicians post strips; you interpret)
• Work in an acute care setting with in-house respiratory therapy available 24/7 and ventilators present on the unit
• Document using the EPIC charting system
• May float to other units as needed

Support Available

• Nurse aide support with 2–5 care assistants typically on the unit
• Charge nurse and transport RN available during optimal staffing hours (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
• In-house respiratory therapy 24/7

Requirements and Guidelines

• Current BLS certification required
• BSN not required
• Wear royal blue scrubs
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
