PCU Registered Nurse Job in Morgantown, WV

You'll work as an RN in the Progressive Care Unit at WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital, providing specialized care for higher acuity neuroscience patients. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of October 23, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule required
• Holiday rotation participation expected
• 2 shifts allowed per 13-week contract

Patient Care and Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 on stepdown and 1:5–6 on the EMU floor
• Care for stroke patients, seizure cases, craniotomies, and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit patients
• Possible floating to units 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10W
• Telemetry present; RNs are not required to read strips
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for floor ventilators; vent experience not required
• Charge nurse and nurse aides (1:8–9 ratio) available 24/7

Requirements and Experience

• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required at submission
• ACLS preferred
• Strong neuroscience experience, including stroke patient care and NIH stroke scale implementation
• EVD (external ventricular drain) experience preferred
• EPIC charting system experience required
• BSN not required
• Driver's license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
