PCU RN Job in Parkersburg, WV

WVU Camden Clark Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Parkersburg, WV. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting November 2, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,380.

Shift and Schedule

• 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) or night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage required if needed
• No on-call; standby may be required if census is low

Role Details

• Float pool assignment covering all inpatient units based on competency, including ICU, Step-down, and Medical/Surgical
• Patient ratios vary by unit: Medical/Surgical 1:6, Step-down 1:4 or 1:5, ICU 1:2 or 1:3
• Common diagnoses include cardiac, orthopedic/neurological, surgical, and general medical
• RNs titrate drips in Step-down areas only (Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro, Cardene, Insulin, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Activase, Esmolol, Lidocaine, Labetalol, Primacor, Procainamide, Aggrastat, Verapamil)
• CPAP and BiPap used across all units; vents are ICU-specific; chronic trach vents may be used in Step-down
• Telemetry available with monitor technicians; CVU reads own strips
• Nurse aides available on unit
• Free charge nurse on day shift Monday through Friday; house supervisor available 24/7

Requirements and Support

• Medical/Surgical background required; Step-down experience preferred
• Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certification required
• 3 to 4 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
• Daily assignments obtained by calling the staffing office
• Epic charting system
• Royal Blue scrub color requirement
• Must submit driver's license with current permanent address with all submissions
