Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• 2 weekends (4 shifts) required per 4-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 6:1 on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit
• Tech support available on both day and night shifts
• Unit secretary available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Document patient care using Meditech electronic documentation system
• Work with equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members with bedside shift report
• Include patients and family members in their plan of care
• Required skills include IV starts, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask required
• Contract labor is first to float; rotation applies when multiple contract staff are scheduled
• Required certifications: BLS
• Required dress code: Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
• Active RN license required
