Med Surg RN Job in Des Moines, IA

You will provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical orthopedic patients at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. This is a travel position offering the flexibility to float between two facility locations as needed, allowing you to build experience across different care environments while maintaining continuity with your core patient population.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to orthopedic and medical-surgical patients
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
• Adapt to varying patient acuity and needs across multiple care settings within the two locations
• Support patient education and discharge planning to optimize recovery outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record

• Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week
