Med Surg RN Job in Nashville, TN

You'll work as an RN on a 36-bed surgical unit (9 Tower Surgical) at Centennial Medical Center. This is a night shift position: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The assignment runs 91 days, starting September 28, 2026. You'll earn $1,918.44 per week.

The unit operates with a 1:5 patient ratio on night shift, staffed by 8 bedside RNs. It's a fast-paced environment with short lengths of stay, so you'll need strong time management and efficiency. Experience in post-op surgical areas is preferred, including vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, and colorectal cases.

Your responsibilities include:

• Maintain post-op surgical procedure sites and perform wound care—packing, dressing changes, and wound vac maintenance
• Manage Foley catheter care, including continuous bladder irrigation
• Handle ostomy appliance changes and maintenance
• Insert and manage nasogastric tubes and suction
• Administer TPN and blood products
• Provide central line care and dressing changes
• Conduct bedside shift reports
• Operate bariatric-fitted equipment including wound vacs, drains, and lifts
• Float to Medical-Surgical units as needed

You'll use the Meditech EMR system for documentation. BLS certification is required. The facility expects prompt attendance, open communication, professional appearance, and attentiveness to patient needs. Acceptable scrub colors are black, grey, white, or royal blue.
