ED RN Job in Altoona, PA

Join West Central – UPMC Altoona as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. You will deliver direct patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while working a sustainable schedule of three 12-hour day shifts per week.

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage and provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members
• Formulate daily goals and plans of care for patients in a holistic manner
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers to achieve desired patient outcomes
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment
• Demonstrate critical thinking in the identification of clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues for patient care
• Provide detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to guide them through episodes of care and transitions
• Actively participate in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts
• Utilize research and evidence-based practice to support improvement in clinical care

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 compliance
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BSN preferred

• Location: Altoona, PA
• Schedule: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (approximately 36 hours per week)
• Duration: 89 days
• Start date: September 1, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,521
