ED RN Job in Altoona, PA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at West Central - UPMC Altoona. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning August 10, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3 days per week on a rotating schedule
• 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours weekly
• Weekly pay: $2,411

Role Responsibilities

You will manage and provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. You will formulate daily goals and plans of care for patients in a holistic manner, applying the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment.

Your clinical work will include demonstrating critical thinking in the identification of clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues relevant to patient care. You will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers to achieve desired patient outcomes. You will provide detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to guide them through episodes of care and transitions.

You will actively participate in department-specific quality improvement efforts and utilize research and evidence-based practice to support improvement in clinical care.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BLS certification
• PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 compliance
• BSN preferred
