ED RN Job in Altoona, PA

You will provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department at West Central – UPMC Altoona. Working three 12-hour day shifts per week, you will manage patient care for a group of patients and their families using independent judgment, clinical communication, and collaboration with your care team.

Your responsibilities include:

• Formulating daily goals and plans of care that address patients' physical, emotional, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual needs
• Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers to achieve desired patient outcomes
• Applying the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment
• Demonstrating critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues affecting patient care
• Providing detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to guide them through episodes of care and transitions
• Actively participating in department-specific quality improvement efforts
• Utilizing research and evidence-based practice to support improvement in clinical care

Required qualifications: Current RN license, BLS certification, and Pennsylvania Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 compliance. Minimum two years of nursing experience required.

This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026. You will receive $2,439 weekly pay for approximately 36 hours per work week.
