Med Surg RN Job in Penn Yan, NY

Finger Lakes Health Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Acute Care Medical-Surgical unit. This is a part-time position working two 12-hour shifts per week on a rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Position Requirements:

• New York State RN Licensure
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Med/Surg environment
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patient and family needs through active listening, direct observation, and collaboration with the healthcare team
• Develop individualized, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans based on patient response or changes in condition
• Develop specialized skills in cardiac care including telemetry monitoring
• Administer medications and apply nursing interventions with demonstrated skill and accuracy
• Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and discharge planning
• Promote patient safety, advocate for patient rights, and comply with infection prevention strategies
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to set and monitor patient goals
• Conduct rounds per protocol and utilize tools and equipment to keep patients and families informed and engaged
• Delegate tasks appropriately and support team members in achieving optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in Quality Improvement activities and engage in ongoing professional development

Compensation: $1,501.50 per week. Assignment Duration: 152 weeks, beginning October 5, 2026.
