Med Surg RN Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 12-hour shift position in Medical-Surgical nursing. This is a unique opportunity to work in a specialized unit that serves adult patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or behavioral issues—one of only a handful of similar units across the country.

About the Role

You will provide direct patient care to adults with medical and surgical needs who are managing concurrent mental health or behavioral challenges. You will work rotating day, evening, and night shifts, including weekends and holidays. On-call and callback responsibilities are part of this position. Charge duties may be assigned based on unit needs. Up to 48 hours per pay period may be billed at regular time.

Your Qualifications

• Valid New York RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Psychology or psychiatric nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to a varied patient population in a changing environment
