Med Surg RN Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for a med-surg orthopedic position. You'll work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule covering days, evenings, and nights. Weekend, holiday, and on-call availability is required per unit needs.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for orthopedic trauma, spinal surgery, and elective orthopedic surgical patients
• Float to other units as needed and assume charge nurse duties when required
• Demonstrate strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills in a team-based environment
• Participate in education and professional development opportunities within a research and innovation-focused department

Required Qualifications

• Current New York RN license (NY licenses only)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Orthopedic nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification from American Heart Association
• ACLS certification from American Heart Association

• Weekly pay: $2,372
• Shift length: 12 hours
• Assignment duration: 117 days
• Start date: September 14, 2026
• Hours available: 36 or 48 hours per week

Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility is preferred. This is a great opportunity to work in a Level 2 trauma center at a major academic medical institution while building expertise in orthopedic nursing.
