Med Surg RN Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Medical-Surgical unit in Rochester, New York. This is a 12-hour shift position with a contract duration of 117 days, starting October 12, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide competent patient care based on established nursing standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager. Your responsibilities will include rotating day, evening, and night shift schedules with every other weekend required. You may be assigned holiday, on-call, callback, and charge responsibilities as unit needs dictate.

Expanded Responsibilities

Beyond direct patient care, you may assume expanded role responsibilities, including charge nurse duties, preceptor responsibilities, and committee member roles as needed.

Requirements

• Current New York RN license (NY licenses only accepted)
• Minimum two years of RN experience
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required

Compensation & Schedule

Weekly pay is $2,390. No straight shift schedules are available; rotating schedules and weekend coverage are mandatory.
