Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a Medical Surgical unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a 3x12 night shift schedule, working 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (note: your first week may include day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM). You'll have 36 guaranteed hours per week with every other weekend required. No on-call shifts.

Your responsibilities:

• Care for adult patients with a typical ratio of 1:4–6
• Float within your service line as needed
• Manage patients with Med/Surg, Telemetry, ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, and GU diagnoses
• Administer medications including Heparin, Lidocaine, Bicarb, Bivalirudin, and Amiodarone (stable, non-titrated, occasionally)
• Manage PCAs, Epidurals, and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Perform procedures including Foleys, CBI, TURPs, and colorectal protocols
• Handle central line blood draws, PICC line management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts
• Provide colostomy care, feeding tube care and management, and blood product administration
• Use Epic charting system
• Monitor centralized telemetry (basic knowledge preferred)

Requirements:

• RN license (2 years of nursing experience required)
• Prior travel assignment experience required—no first-time travelers
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Must pass Relias EKG exam with interpretation and dysrhythmia management skills
