PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as a registered nurse in a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a travel position with a 91-day duration, beginning August 3, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Night shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required

Compensation and Staffing

• Weekly pay: $2,102.40
• Patient ratio: 4:1 at grid, 5:1 when stretched
• Night shift team includes 2 charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace application
• Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, and IV infusions
• Assist with lumbar drain management and feeding tube placement
• Administer blood transfusions
• Operate IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts
• Document in Cerner EMR system
• Float to step-down units and med-surg units as needed

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Neuro and trauma care experience required
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Navy blue scrubs required
