Med Surg RN Job in Appleton, WI

Join ThedaCare as a Registered Nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit in Appleton, Wisconsin. This 13-week travel assignment offers night shift work with stability and clear expectations.

Position Details:

• 12-hour night shifts, 5:30 PM start time
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (excluding orientation and facility closures)
• 3x12 schedule
• Weekly pay: $2,404
• Start date: October 12, 2026

Work Environment:

• Float across Med/Surg units at ThedaCare Appleton and ThedaCare Neenah, with occasional float to smaller ThedaCare facilities
• Member of the Clinical Resource Team (CRT)
• Patient ratio 1:5–6, paired with LPN/CNA support based on acuity
• No on-call or callback requirements
• Weekend requirement: up to every other weekend
• Holiday rotation as needed
• Missed shifts must be made up within 2 weeks

Clinical Focus:

• Medical/Surgical, General Surgical, Oncology, Renal, CIWA, CHF, COPD, Stroke, Surgical Trauma, Orthopedics, DKA, and rare pediatric patients
• Assignments based on your skillset; you will only care for patients within your experience level
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, post-pacemaker care, and TR Bands strongly preferred
• Cardiac and neuro experience (stroke, post-TNK, neuro surgery) a plus

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years RN experience and 2+ years Med/Surg experience
• At least 1 prior travel contract strongly preferred
• WI RN License, AHA BLS, and NIHSS certification required
• AHA ACLS preferred
• EPIC charting experience within the last year required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Previous travel experience required
• Black scrubs
