Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Medical-Surgical nursing. You will work 4x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with guaranteed 48 hours per week; overtime is paid after 48 hours in a single week.

About the Role

You will provide care in a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit serving pre- and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients. This fast-paced setting averages 10–15 admissions daily with 90–95% occupancy during weekdays. Average patient length of stay is 2–3 days. Your nurse-to-patient ratio will be 1:5 to 1:7 on night shifts. You may float to other inpatient units as needed, and you will work every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care based on acuity and clinical needs
• Multitask and prioritize efficiently in a high-volume environment
• Chart using Epic EMR and operate Rovers for medication scanning and Alaris infusion pumps
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred)

Assignment Details

Start date: November 2, 2026. Weekly pay: $2,852. Contractors must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility. Any color scrubs are permitted.
