RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required, holidays as needed
• Float required between all campuses as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:6, with one rotating unit assignment of 7 patients of equivalent acuity
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, no first-time travelers
• Acute care rehab experience preferred
• Travel experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certification: BLS
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam prior to start; candidate is allowed 2 attempts, no study materials provided
• Interpret dysrhythmias and perform EKG interpretation
• Interpret laboratory results and perform medication reconciliation
• Complete patient health questionnaire, history and allergies, vital signs including blood pressure, respirations, temperature, and pulse
• Perform dressing changes and set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays
• Conduct capillary blood draws, specimen labeling, throat cultures, clean catch urinalysis, and phlebotomy
• Handle telephone triage and pharmacy calls/patient refill requests
• Care for patients with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility
• Provide specialized inpatient rehabilitation care for post-stroke, aneurysm, post-op surgical, brain injury, and spinal cord injury patients
• Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
