Med Surg RN Job in Des Moines, IA

You will join the Medical-Surgical Neuro unit at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center as a registered nurse on the night shift. This 90-day travel assignment offers you the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment while building your clinical experience in a new region.

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN) on Medical-Surgical Neuro unit
• Shift: 3 nights per week, 12.5 hours per shift (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: Every other weekend required; every other holiday schedule required
• Duration: 90 days
• Start Date: July 13, 2026
• Weekly Pay: $2,213.64

About the Unit

The Medical-Surgical Neuro unit serves patients recovering from neurological conditions and procedures, including stroke, spinal cord injury, and neurosurgical recovery. You will work alongside a collaborative nursing team to deliver comprehensive care, manage patient assessments, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians and specialists.

What to Expect

Night shift work requires adaptability and strong time-management skills. You will be responsible for monitoring vital signs, responding to patient needs, documenting clinical observations, and communicating with the day shift team.
