PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Progressive Care Unit located on 2 North floor
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Day shift staffing includes charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs
• Work with telemonitoring and post-op monitoring equipment
• EMR system: Meditech/CPN
• Perform post-op recovery care for surgical and cath lab patients
• Care for post-op orthopedic patients including spine and joint procedures
• Manage a variety of patient populations including elective ortho, spine, GYN surgeries, elective cath lab procedures, stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure
• Administer set rate cardiac drips (non-titrating except heparin)
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH
• Cardiac experience preferred
• Prior Meditech experience preferred
• Friendly, outgoing personality and teamwork-oriented approach required
• Modified self-scheduling process with schedules posted 3 weeks in advance
