RN - PCU Float Pool Stepdown

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6-9 weekend shifts required in a 6-week schedule
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Schedule is released 4-6 weeks in advance by leadership; travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
• Float pool position covering multiple PCU/IMC units across specialties including General, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
• Must float within Zone 1 facilities within a 60-mile radius; no home base facility
• Schedule may follow single facility weekly assignment or Just-In-Time (JIT) format where facility is assigned 1-2 hours before shift start
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 dependent on acuity
• Must be comfortable titrating and managing cardiac drips including dopamine, dobutamine, cardizem, amiodarone, ativan, insulin, and heparin
• Must have experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan
• Common patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology post-surgical, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
• RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPap present on unit
• Nurse aides available on unit
• Charting system: Epic; prior Epic experience preferred
• 1-2 days of orientation with a preceptor
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/IMC experience required; prior neuro experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Colorado nursing license required
• BSN not required
