PCU RN Job in Denver, CO

HCA HealthONE Swedish is seeking an RN for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on the 5th Floor, Northwest Tower of the Main Hospital in Denver, CO. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026.

Shift and Compensation

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekly pay: $1,839.60

Unit Overview

The PCU is a 30-bed night shift unit staffed by 1 Charge RN, 5–8 nurses, and 2–3 PCTs. You will typically manage a 1:4 patient ratio, with occasional 1:5 assignments. The team uses Meditech EMR.

Key Responsibilities

• Post-catheterization care: right and left heart caths, TAVRs, ablations, Watchmans, pacemaker implantations, TR band management, and neurovascular checks
• Post-thoracic surgery care: VATs/RATs, resections, lobectomies, and chest tube management
• Pre- and post-operative care for open-heart surgical patients: CABGs, MVRs, AVRs, and aortic dissection repairs
• Vascular surgery post-operative care
• Advanced monitoring and support: telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires/pacers, IV pumps, and SCD pumps

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of acute care PCU hospital experience
• BLS and ACLS certification

Preferred Skills

• Chest tube management and removal
• Pacer wire removal
• 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Oxygen management including BiPAP and heated high flow
• Drip management: heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine
