PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Progressive Care Unit located on 2 North floor of the main building
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Night shift staffing includes charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2 PCTs
• Work with telemonitoring and post-operative monitoring equipment
• EMR system: Meditech/CPN
• Care for a variety of patient populations including elective ortho, spine, and GYN surgery patients
• Provide post-operative recovery for surgical and cath lab patients
• Care for post-op orthopedic patients including spine and joint procedures
• Manage elective cath lab procedure patients including post PCI, post pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion, and re-vascularization
• Handle stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure patients
• Administer set rate cardiac drips (non-titrating except heparin)
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH
• Cardiac experience preferred
• Prior Meditech experience preferred
• Friendly, outgoing personality and teamwork-oriented mindset required
• Modified self-scheduling process with schedules posted 3 weeks in advance
