Med Surg RN Job in Chattanooga, TN

Join Parkridge Medical Center as a travel RN on the 3West unit, a 30-bed medical-surgical cardiac floor located on the main 3rd floor. This is a 91-day assignment starting October 19, 2026, with a 3x12 day shift schedule (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) and a guaranteed 48 hours per week.

Unit Overview

• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Staffing includes unit clerk on days, 2–3 PCTs on day and night shifts, nursing supervisor, and hospitalists
• Scheduling requires the equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle)
• Floating may occur to other med/surg areas including general MS, Ortho, PCU, and MS surgical with oncology, depending on skill mix

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform bedside rounding and hourly rounding with 5P's assessment
• Manage chest tubes, wound vacs, and EKGs
• Document telemetry applications, acknowledge rhythm strips, and file in chart each shift
• Administer cardiac drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
• Cardiac knowledge is preferred

Systems & Equipment

• Documentation: Meditech-HCA version system
• Medication administration: WOW platform and Pyxis ES dispensing
• Monitoring: GE Telemetry, Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, and Rovers

Requirements

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications

Dress Code

Navy scrubs required for RNs. Wear white, blue, grey, orange, or black t-shirt underneath with no graphics. No artificial or gel nails or gel nail polish.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $1,786.
