Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a neurosurgery unit specializing in pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients. The unit also covers general neurology and stroke patients, with in-house Nurse Practitioner or Resident coverage 24/7.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour day shifts
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: November 23, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,082
• Guaranteed hours provided

Unit Information

• Patient ratio: 1:4–6
• Adults only patient population
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Will float within service line to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling not available
• Maximum 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract

Clinical Focus

• Pre- and post-operative neurosurgery care
• Surgical drain management and intermittently drained lumbar drains
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Heparin administration and peripheral line care
• Telemetry monitoring

Unit Limitations

Unit does not accept drips requiring titration (except Heparin), trached/total laryngectomy patients, EVDs, fresh TPA administration, or arterial lines.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Must pass Relias EKG exam
• Epic experience preferred
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
