ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 16-bed Neuro Vascular ICU (NVICU) with patient ratios of 2:1, occasionally 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing
• Unit secretary staffed during day shift with occasional nurse extern working as a tech
• Operate and manage advanced equipment including ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000
• Document using Meditech electronic documentation system
• Perform and assist with procedures including insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions
• Minimum weekend requirement of 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Schedule completed in 4-week increments with self-scheduling available to an extent; manager may adjust shifts to balance the schedule
• Contract labor is first to float; if staffing need is in med/surg, contract labor is expected to float to med/surg and take the assignment
• Required to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
• Dress code: Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Active RN license required
• Prior ICU experience required
