MRI Technologist Job in Altoona, PA

West Central – UPMC Altoona is seeking an MRI Technologist to join our imaging department. You will work a 3x12 rotating shift schedule, giving you flexibility alongside consistent, full-time hours.

What You'll Do

• Independently perform MRI imaging procedures for diagnostic purposes, applying clinical judgment and initiative
• Maintain and practice MR safety standards throughout all departmental operations
• Review patient history, assess physician orders, and apply departmental protocols to optimize data acquisition, including labeling, preparation, and contrast administration
• Identify all patients using two identifiers and utilize universal protocol before each procedure
• Review and present relevant patient information to the physician based on protocol prior to exam start
• Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns to help them feel comfortable
• Perform procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving all images
• Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked, networked for archiving, and interpreted
• Document patient history in the electronic record as required
• Enter all charges accurately for exams performed
• Maintain clinical competency for all exams and equipment

What We Require

• 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
• Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program with MR registry
• Current certification: ARRT Certificate, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pennsylvania compliance: Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73

Assignment Details

90-day travel assignment starting August 3, 2026. You will earn $2,925 weekly. This position offers you the opportunity to expand your clinical expertise while working in a well-established UPMC facility.
