Opportunity:

RN - Tele

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week including every other weekend and holidays in rotation
• Unit is a 29-bed Telemetry floor with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Care for up to 6 Telemetry patients and post cardiac procedure patients including PCI, PPM, ICD, and Ablations
• Proficiency in reading telemetry strips required
• Manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amio, Nitro, and Dobutamine
• Administer breathing treatments including inhalers and nebulizers
• Perform phlebotomy, Foley catheter care and maintenance with nurse driven protocols for removal
• Care for Telemetry and Post Cath Lab patients
• Time management skills required including plans of care every shift, collaboration with physicians and ancillary departments, discharge planning, and patient education
• Utilize i-mobile phones, mobile computer workstations on wheels, mobilab for lab draws, and Alaris IV pumps
• Document using Meditech system
• Conduct bedside shift report as method of patient handoff using AIDET and RN/MD rounding
• Travelers are first to float and may be sent to the emergency department for inpatient holds, telemetry monitoring room, or PCU
• Minimum 30 months of RN or LPN nursing experience required with at least one previous successful travel nursing assignment
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Required dress code: Navy uniform
