Operating Room RN Job in Charleston, SC

MUSC Health Charleston is hiring a Registered Nurse for its ambulatory Operating Room. You'll work in a 1:1 patient ratio with adult surgical cases in a modern facility that uses current technology and supports your clinical growth.

Schedule and Hours

• 4x10 day shifts: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• One late week per four weeks required to complete cases
• No weekends, no major holidays, no on-call requirements
• Guaranteed hours policy: may be called off up to 10 hours per 2-week period

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage perioperative care for ophthalmology, orthopaedics, ENT, gynecology, urology, endocrine, and surgical oncology cases
• Potential to float within the perioperative facility as needed
• May precept a care team member in the operating room
• Chart in Epic electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

• Current SC or Compact RN License
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience
• Verified travel nursing experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Epic charting system experience
• Radiation badge provided by parent company

Specialty Equipment and Support

You'll work with surgical lasers (ophthalmology, ENT, GU, gynecology), Mini C-Arm, Storz video towers, Arthrex arthroscopy towers, Neptune suction and smoke evacuation systems, beach chair bed attachments, and Allen stirrups. Interdisciplinary support is available through Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary staff.
