PACU RN Job in Fredericksburg, TX

Join Methodist Hospital Hill Country as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This 13-week contract position offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic surgical recovery environment where you'll provide direct patient care across multiple phases of post-operative recovery.

Schedule and Commitment

• Primary schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• On-call night shift coverage as needed
• On-call weekend commitment: 1 weekend per month (Friday through Sunday)
• On-call weekday commitment: 1 weekday per month
• Float within the unit as assigned

Your Role

You will work across PreOp, Phase I recovery, Phase II recovery, and Post-Anesthesia Ward (PAW) areas, following ASPAN patient ratio standards. Your responsibilities include assisting with procedures such as General, Orthopedic, Gynecological, Vascular, GI, PCI, Interventional Radiology, and Blood Transfusions. You will operate a range of clinical equipment including GE Monitors, Plum IV Pumps, Doppler ultrasound, Sonosite devices, Bladder Scanners, KCI Wound Vacs, Prevena WV systems, Bi-phasic Defibrillators, and Bair PAWS/Bair Huggers. Documentation occurs in the Meditech EMR system.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Meditech experience preferred
• Regional block assistance experience preferred
