Telemetry RN Job in San Bernardino, CA

St Bernardine Medical Center is seeking an RN for a telemetry float pool position. You'll work day shifts as part of the acute care team, rotating into permanent staff scheduling with weekend and holiday coverage.

Role Overview

As a float pool nurse, you'll be first to cover the Med-Surg/Telemetry unit. You must be comfortable floating between assignments and able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips. Your responsibilities include patient monitoring, care coordination, and charting using the Cerner PowerChart system.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (or overnight 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM as assigned)
• Every other weekend requirement
• 91-day contract starting December 7, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,410.56

Clinical Environment

You'll work in an acute care setting with common patient diagnoses including ESRD, diabetes, COPD, and alcohol-related conditions. Support services include a hospitalist through Sound Physician Hospitalist group, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and 24/7 pharmacy. Nurse aides are available (unless pulled for sitter duties), with patient ratios ranging from 1:8 to 1:36 depending on current staffing. Note: no IV team is on site.

Requirements & Skills

• Active RN license
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; basic arrhythmia course certification preferred
• Experience with BiPAP and CPAP equipment
• BSN not required

You'll wear blue scrubs and work as part of an organized care team in a facility with established protocols and physician oversight.
