Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float required as needed, including to other campus locations
• Charge RN shifts required as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Charge RN experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Required certification: BLS
• Patient ratio experience of 5 to 6 patients
• Care provided for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Orthopedic and medical surgical patient care, including total joint replacements, fracture repairs, shoulder repairs, kyphoplasties, and neck and back surgeries
• Telemetry monitoring responsibilities including interpretation of dysrhythmias
• 32-bed unit with a physical therapy gym on-site allowing patients to receive therapy without leaving the unit
• Unit also accommodates ED patients, sometimes with high acuity
• Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, continuous bladder irrigation, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, PCA management, pre/post hemodialysis management, BiPAP/CPAP management, phlebotomy, peripheral line care, starting and maintaining IVs, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Special equipment includes CPMs, Buck's Traction, and neck and back braces
