ED Registered Nurse Job in Clinton, MD

MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 40-bed Emergency Department in Clinton, MD. You will work a 3x12 day shift schedule with every other weekend and holiday rotation required. This position offers no on-call duties.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a 4:1 patient ratio across all age groups, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adults
• Perform triage and manage patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions
• Manage BiPAP/CPAP support and provide care for ventilated patients
• Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias and manage EKG findings
• Perform phlebotomy, start and maintain IVs, and apply isolation precautions
• Float within your skillset as needed to support the department

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years recent Emergency Department experience
• Verified travel nursing experience
• Worked in an ED with at least 45,600 annual visits (125 per day) within the past 8 months
• Triage experience required
• Cerner EMR proficiency
• Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 80% score on Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with 100% on lethal rhythms
• Previous charge experience and community hospital background preferred

What We Offer

Weekly pay of $2,268 for a 91-day assignment beginning November 2, 2026. The department handles approximately 130 patients daily and provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary assistance.
