Telemetry RN Job in Rochester, NY

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Telemetry unit at Rochester — Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,204.

Schedule and Staffing

• 3x12 nights per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call required
• Day/evening patient ratios are 5:1 (stretch 6–7); night ratios are 6–7:1 (stretch 8–10 if staff calls in)
• Float within scope to other like units as needed

Clinical Requirements and Scope

You must hold a current New York state nursing license and have a minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience. Epic charting experience is required. Required certifications include BLS and NIHSS.

• Competency with phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with Rapid Response and Code teams
• Peripheral line care and management
• Nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and PPE compliance
• Amiodarone drip management

Equipment and Patient Population

You will work with BIPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, ventilators, tracheostomies, and chest tubes. Patient diagnoses include acute respiratory failure, CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, and sepsis. You will care for adults and geriatric patients.

Support and Resources

PCTs are available on all units for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
