Job Details:

• Surgical block scheduling from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional late stays
• Late stay scheduled approximately 5 to 8 days per month and utilized approximately 3 to 4 times per month
• No weekend coverage or on-call requirements
• Zero weekend shifts per contract
• Patient ratio of 1:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float to another surgery center possible but unlikely
• Orthopedic surgery-only unit across five operating rooms with a daily census of 10 to 20 patients
• Perform scrub and circulating roles for orthopedic procedures including knee, shoulder, ankle, wrist, elbow, and hip arthroscopies
• Assist with ACL, MPFL, rotator cuff repairs, Latarjet procedures, hand/elbow, foot and ankle, total hips, knees, and shoulder surgeries, with limited spine cases beginning in January
• Work with standard OR equipment including 100% Skytron slider beds, Neptune suction, Stryker power tools, Arthrex integrated arthroscopy on booms, mini-C and large-C arm x2, Hanna Table, Trios/Jackson table, Zeiss Microscope, Wilson frame, and pegboard positioning equipment
• Anesthesia staff responsible for moving patients to and from the OR using motorized stretchers
• Treat patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Scrub ability a plus but not required
• Must be proficient with the majority of orthopedic skills
• Required certification: BLS
• South Carolina RN license required prior to start
