PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling including every 3rd weekend
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) unless the unit is closed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran
• Care for patients with rhythm disturbances, heart failure, MI, CCL recovery, and MS overflow
• Patient ratios: Days 1:3-5, Nights 1:5-6
• 24-bed unit with telemetry tech unit monitoring
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Nitro, Cardene, Heparin, Diltiazem, Dopamine, and others
• Experience with ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) and pacemaker patients required
• Minimum 24 months of Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience required
• Cardiac rhythm experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience preferred
• Dress code: Navy blue solid scrubs
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• Active Iowa nursing license required
