Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in 4Heart Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) unit with 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds
• Maintain 1:5 patient ratio per RN
• Care for primary patient population including CV surgery and vascular surgery patients (open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, vascular procedures)
• Handle overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block
• Stepdown experience required - candidates without this will not be considered
• Telemetry experience required
• Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience preferred
• CVICU experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Perform typical procedures including epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip management
• Use Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts
• Work with Cerner EMR system
• Float to any stepdown units (1:5 ratios), medical surgical units (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6)
• Minimum 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
• No call requirements
• Must be flexible to work holidays
• Dress code: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
• Must be a team player who enjoys fast-paced environment and demonstrates flexibility
