PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Contract end date falls on Sunday
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units
• Low census may occur in 4-hour increments; may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry monitoring
• Patient population includes stable and weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Manage primary patients and insulin drips
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required with Stepdown, Intermediate, or PCU experience required
• ICU experience preferred; Trauma Level II preferred
• Ventilator/trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• EKG exam required during compliance
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
