Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Tele

Job Details:

• 13 or 26 week contract options available
• 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend coverage required, may change based on need
• Floating required to like units at this hospital or nearby hospitals depending on need
• Low census standby possible
• Care for adult patients in observation status and inpatient overflow
• Treat patients with chest pain/acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias, diabetes, syncope, permanent pacemaker insertion, CVA/TIA/stroke work-up, pneumonia, heart failure, COPD, sepsis, and GI bleed
• Perform cardiac/telemetry monitoring, pulse oximetry monitoring, and patient assessments
• Coordinate testing and procedures and collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient-specific plans of care
• Consult with specialty services including cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, and neurology
• Perform procedures including permanent pacemaker pacing, TEE, negative pressure isolation (AFB), thoracentesis/paracentesis, and Level 3 administration of continuous intravenous infusions and IV push medications
• Utilize Pyxis and Omnicell medication systems
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiac telemetry required
• Required certifications: SC RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Required skills: cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry remote monitoring, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
