ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with ASAP start date
• 12-hour night shifts
• Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly with overtime after 80 hours worked in the second week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• May be placed on low census call; call back minimum is 2 hours
• Float to ICU and Med/Surg units as needed
• Perform ED assessments and general nursing skills
• Care for geriatric patients with CHF or COPD, diabetic ketoacidosis, trauma patients, stroke patients, cardio-respiratory emergencies, pediatric patients, and other general medical concerns
• Charge RN shifts included as part of the role
• Work in a 9-bed ED with 2 negative pressure rooms and 2 trauma bays
• Staffing ratio of 2 RNs on day shift through 11:00 PM and 1 RN on nights with charge nurse assist
• Float to a 2-bed ICU and 25-bed Med/Surg unit as needed
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required; 5 years strongly preferred
• Required certifications: Current MI RN license, ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Any colored scrubs acceptable
