Med Surg RN Job in Kirksville, MO

Northeast Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med Surg position with rehab experience on the night shift. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 nights, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Weekends required
• Call required — no standing call, but may be placed on call if volume supports, not to exceed 48 hours of call-off time per standard contract
• Floating required — primarily to Med Surg only for patient assignments; may be floated to other units for tasking with existing competencies only
• 48-hour weekly guarantees may be accommodated
• Blocked scheduling requests may be accommodated — no week on/week off

Unit Overview

• 10-bed inpatient rehab (swing) unit with a patient ratio of 1:10
• You will provide nursing care for up to 10 swing patients
• May absorb Med Surg patients if swing volume drops
• Patients require less nurse-intensive care than traditional Med Surg but no difference in skill requirements

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Rehab and Med Surg experience required
• BLS certification required

This role is ideal for an RN who is comfortable working nights, willing to float primarily within Med Surg, and has solid experience in both rehab and Med Surg settings.
