Med Surg RN Job in Florence, SC

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical unit at MUSC Health - Florence. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 27, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 4x12 day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• On-call PRN for low census
• Weekly pay: $2,419.20

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care on the med-surg unit with a standard patient ratio of 1:6, which may flex to 1:7 during unplanned absences. Floating to other med-surg units is required to meet facility needs. The facility may call off one shift per two weeks. You'll manage adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including diabetes, renal disease, hypertension, coronary artery disease, stroke, chest pain, and altered mental status.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2 years of med-surg nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
• Med-surg, med-surg telemetry, and telemetry expertise
• Proficiency with insulin administration, rapid response protocols, and Epic charting
• BLS certification required before start
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• SC license or Compact license required prior to start

Daily Responsibilities

Your skill set includes accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tube management, colostomy and ileostomy care, CVA management, feeding tube care, heparin administration, isolation precautions, dysrhythmia management, PCA pumps, PICC line management, wound care and wound vac care, and tracheostomy care. Telemetry monitoring is performed by monitor techs in a central location.

Facility Support

You'll have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The facility uses telemedicine equipment, and instruction will be provided. Free parking is available.

Uniform

Royal blue scrubs are required.
