Telemetry RN Job in Wilmington, NC

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center Rapid Response is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry position in Wilmington, NC. This is a 91-day contract running 3x12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM at $1,972 per week.

Role Requirements

• 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start date
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Med-Surg, Telemetry, or Step-down experience preferred

Unit Details

You will care for adult and geriatric patients with a typical ratio of 1:6, varying by acuity. Float responsibilities apply as needed at unit discretion. Common diagnoses include Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valvular disease, cardiomyopathy, and peripheral vascular conditions. Post-procedure care involves patients recovering from CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO, VATS, Carotid Endarterectomy, FEM-POP Bypass, cardiac and thoracic surgeries, post-catheterization, post-DCCV, post-electrophysiology procedures, and pacemaker placements.

Equipment includes Doppler, Bladder Scanner, EKG, Femoral Sheaths, TR Band, Fem-Stop, Chest Tubes, and Epicardial Pacing Wires. Unit systems include Pyxis and EPIC.

Scheduling Expectations

• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week cycle
• No call required
• Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Maximum 7 days of pre-approved time off; no time off during the first week and no additional time off after contract signing
• May be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster situations as part of a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team

Navy blue pants and white tops required. 24 hours of unit orientation provided. First-time travelers with 2 years of cardiac experience are welcome to apply. Contracts of 36 or 48 hours are accepted; longer assignments of 13–26 weeks also available.
